Lord of Life Adult Day Health Center

Who Attends?

Adults age 18 years and older are enrolled in our program.  They all are special and each one has unique talents, skills, needs and biographies.  Our Center provides a social environment for everyone and additional services for stroke recovery individuals, head trauma victims and frail elderly dementia clients.  We specialize in Alzheimer's care, offering respite services to the families of all participants.

Activities

For a person with some form of dementia, activities keep them involved in the world around them. Activities  give meaning and purpose to an individual’s life by enhancing their sense of dignity and self-esteem.  Although some abilities are lost, one can use their existing abilities to successfully participate in fulfilling activities. Crafts and artwork, table games, bingo, small and large group activities, and intergenerational programs are enjoyed by our participants.  Our sports and exercise program includes: bowling, baseball, golf, senior aerobics, dancing and other active events.  We go on field trips throughout the year that are designed to provide recreation and education for all participants.  Local entertainment is invited to our Center.  We have enjoyed dancers, musicians, clowns and many community service programs available to us. 

Intergenerational Programs

Our older children participate on a weekly basis with our special adult friends attending Lord of Life Adult Day Health Center. Experience has shown that each social contact enriches the life of both the child and the adult friend. They participate in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, field trips, and music. In addition, our Centers join together for Celebration, recognizing the importance of acknowledging and enhancing the adult's spiritual dimensions.  The experience of Celebration enables each adult to relate to the love and wonder of God. Celebration acknowledges and affirms differences of religious beliefs and practices. It is our intent to create an environment in which the everyone is aware of the mystery and presence of God. Weekly the children gather with the adults for a format of songs, prayer, and a short theme development. Celebration takes place on alternating Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. We welcome your inquiries and invite you to join us for Celebration at any time.
