Program

Our Infant Program serves children ages 6 weeks to 18 months.

At Lord of Life we believe that quality infant care has a significant role in developing the foundations of language and learning.  Our caregivers, modify routines to meet individual needs, and assist each infant in developing physically and intellectually.

Our Toddler Program serves children 18 months to 3 years old.

In the toddler program, ample time and teacher assistance is provided to help the children learn self-help skills in a relaxed, nurturing environment, which is sensitive to their individual needs.  Best of all, the toddlers learn more about themselves.  By the time our children have completed these programs, they are ready to begin pre-school.

Our Preschool Program is available for children 3-5 years old.

The children are introduced to learning centers, such as art, dramatic play, blocks and language. The children learn to make choices and to experiment with new things. They learn to share and take turns. The dominant sound you'll hear in our preschool is the laughter and happiness of children. We work closely with area schools, including Lancaster, Depew and Cheektowaga to ensure our curriculum will give children the tools they need to meet kindergarten readiness exams.

We offer Universal Pre-Kindergarten programming through Depew Union Free School District

School Age Care Before and After School

The Before School Program opens at 6:00 a.m. and provides a healthy breakfast for the students in the morning.   Depew School District buses from our Center to the schools.  The After School Program begins when the students are dropped off by the bus.  Our teachers meet the students at the bus and bring them into the program area.  A nutritious  snack is provided. The students are given time and assistance with their school homework. Games, arts & crafts, and play are integral to the program.  We also accommodate school emergency and early closings as well as many school holidays.  The program closes promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp is a very active experience. The students go on many field trips, including museums, parks and libraries.  In addition to field trips, the students enjoy group and individual projects and games. On a daily basis, the students have opportunities to read and record their experiences in journals. The outdoor nature preserve affords the children the opportunity to observe the flora and fauna, and to work on environmental projects. This is a relaxed program that gives the children the break they need after a busy school year, while they continue to learn in a fun way.

Intergenerational Programs

The Lord of Life Child Development Center is always striving to provide children with meaningful experiences for growth and development outside the home. We are very proud of our Intergenerational Programs.  This unique mingling of young and not so young is beneficial for everyone involved.

Recognizing the importance of acknowledging and enhancing the child’s spiritual dimensions, we incorporate the Celebration experience into our program .

The experience of Celebration enables each child to relate to the love and wonder of God. Celebration acknowledges and affirms differences of religious beliefs and practices. It is our intent to create an environment in which the children will be aware of the mystery and presence of God.

The children gather weekly with the adults from our Adult Day Health Center for a format of songs, prayer, and a short theme development.

We welcome your inquiries and invite you to join us for Celebration at any time.

Our older children participate on a weekly basis with our special adult friends attending Adult Day Health Center. Experience has shown that each social contact enriches the life of both the child and the adult friend. They participate in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, and music.
